Famous spots for Kawazu cherry blossoms are often found in parks or along rivers, but there is a little-known Kawazu cherry tree in full bloom along the arcade in KuwanaCity 's Teramachi-dori shopping street!
It's a shopping street in the middle of town, close to the station, so you can enjoy cherry blossom viewing while shopping and taking a walk.

In the Teramachi-dori shopping street, Kawazu cherry trees are lined up close to the arcade.
It's beautiful no matter where you look at it, but the spot I recommend is viewing Kawazu cherry blossoms from the southern end of the row of trees. The rows of trees are curved, so if you look up from a little further down, it looks like an arcade of Kawazu cherry blossoms. Don't you think that it has a powerful feel and resembles the shape of a dragon?
There are some trees in the row that have no flowers at all, but these trees are Somei Yoshino. They start blooming after the Kawazu cherry blossom season ends.
On Saturday, March 9th and Sunday, March 10th, 2024, the Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival will be held in the plaza of Teramachi-dori shopping street, and there will be sales of food and drinks such as dango, and games.

Teramachi-dori shopping street is a large shopping street with an arcade. There are many retro-style shops and new shops, such as Japanese sweets shops, restaurants, delicatessen shops, and clothing shops.
A morning market called Sanpachi Market is held in the morning on the 3rd and 8th days of every month, and is crowded with many people. This morning market has a history of over 50 years.
