A row of tripods before sunrise! A complete manual for cherry blossom reflections in the clear Miyagawa River at the popular “Sakura no Sato Park” | OdaiTown, Mie Prefecture

As the name has "Sakura" in it, it is the most famous spot for cherry blossoms in Odai-cho, Mie OdaiTown Oku-ise area.

Although it is a park, there are no playground equipment. There are toilets, a parking lot that can accommodate about 15 cars, and an arbor, where people who live nearby can take a walk and drivers can take a break during their lunch break.It is also a base for black bass fishing in the clear Miyagawa River. There is also a rope for lowering bass fishing boats.

In recent years, it has suddenly become famous as a base for water activities due to the clear Miyagawa River, and many people come here with their SUPs and canoes. For this reason, the parking lot is often full during the day on holidays during the beginning of spring, summer, and fall. There is no reservation system, and there are no nearby parking lots that you can walk to, so you have no choice but to compromise.

During the cherry blossom season, this park is most lively at dawn when it is still dark and quiet.

"Sakura no Sato Park" has a unique shape that seems to be inspired by the scenery of cherry blossoms. Cherry blossoms are planted so that they jut out over the clear Miyagawa River, and there is a spot in front of the park where you can take pictures of them.

When the cherry blossoms begin to bloom, many camera enthusiasts gather here before sunrise, setting up tripods and waiting for the sun to rise. The cherry blossoms illuminated by the sun and the reflection on the Miyagawa River. Many fans come from inside and outside the prefecture to capture this beautiful view. On sunny days when the trees are in full bloom, 50 to 60 people may gather first thing in the morning. Everyone was evacuated by around 7:30am.

Depending on the day, you can see river mist or a beautiful snowstorm of cherry blossoms, and it's a place where new impressions are born no matter how many times you visit! Please be sure to bring your camera with you.

The contrast between the Miyagawa green and the pale cherry blossom color during the day after the morning sun has finished is also wonderful♪

We recommend viewing it from the observation spot where you can see rows of tripods in the morning, or relaxing under the cherry blossom trees in the park.

This is the most popular cherry blossom spot, and the number of parking spaces is limited, so it's crowded and you won't be able to enjoy cherry blossom viewing! For those times, we will also introduce ``Momiji no Sato Park,'' which you can enjoy together with ``Sakura no Sato Park.''

This park has the word "momiji" in its name, making it a counterpart to Sakura no Sato Park, and is beautiful not only during the fall foliage but also during the cherry blossom season.

A vertical park that stretches along the clear Miyagawa River. Like Sakura no Sato, it is also a base for black bass fishing and water activities in the clear Miyagawa River. The ramp for dropping off boats for bass fishing and the ramp for water activities such as SUP are located in separate locations, so be sure to check the signs posted at the park.

OdaiTown in Mie Prefecture was established in 2006 by the merger of OdaiTown and Miyagawa Village. ``Furusato Plaza Momijikan'', which served as the gateway to the former Miyagawa Village towards Osugidani and provided restaurants, souvenir sales, and tourist information, closed in 2020.

​“BURGER & DONUTS BOUQUET” has been renovated and opened in the spring of 2022. The view overlooking the park from the parking lot of this shop is the best spot for cherry blossom viewing! There is a counter with a river view in the parking lot along the Miyagawa River, so enjoy the view of the clear stream and cherry blossoms while eating spring-only donuts and hearty gourmet burgers.
