[A hidden cherry blossom spot in Yokkaichi🌸] The cherry blossoms at Ikuwayama Senpukuji Temple are in full bloom.

Ikukuwayama Senpukuji Temple is a branch temple of Shigisan Chogosonshiji Temple in Yokkaichi, Nara Prefecture, and is also counted as one of the Ise Seven Lucky Gods Sacred Sites in the Hokusei region.

The main deity is a standing statue of Bishamonten, which is designated as a tangible cultural property of YokkaichiCity and Mie Prefecture. In front of the main hall, there is a statue of a tiger, Bishamonten's messenger, instead of a lion dog. The temple is affectionately known locally as "Ikuwano Bishamonsan."

At Senpukuji Temple, you can climb up to the roof of the hall as part of a ritual called "Shoufuku Nyudan."

*When you go up to the top of the hall, please put 200 yen into the box as a lucky charm entrance fee. Open the door on the right side of the hall and go up the stairs to the top.

The view from the rooftop is exceptional, with cherry blossoms spreading out like clouds at your feet and the city of Yokkaichi in the distance.

It is dangerous to lean on or straddle the fence, so please be careful while enjoying your cherry blossom viewing! And don't forget to admire the cherry blossoms and pray at the shrine 🙏

*There are days when you cannot enter the temple for good fortune. If there is a sign at the entrance saying "You cannot enter the temple for good fortune today," you will not be able to climb the temple. In that case, please enjoy cherry blossom viewing in the temple grounds!
