On March 30, 2024, the Tsu Local Meteorological Observatory observed the blooming ofa specimen tree of Somei Yoshino in Tsu Kairaku Park (TsuCity komeicho). It is said that the flowers will bloom 8 days later than last year.


Will Someiyoshino cherry blossoms bloom earlier this year? However, due to the continued cold weather in mid-March, the flowering was declared later than usual.

Approximately 2,000 cherry blossom trees are in full bloom along the promenade that runs from the parking lot of Onigajo, a tourist attraction in KumanoCity, to Matsumoto Pass. As spring approaches, four types of cherry blossoms (Kanhizakura, Someiyoshino, Yaezakura, and Oshimazakura) bloom one after another. It is a popular spot where you can enjoy cherry blossoms along with the Kumano Kodo Iseji Route, a World Heritage Site.

At KyukaPark, where you can enjoy flowers all year round, there are about 450 trees in full bloom, including Yoshino cherry trees, weeping cherry trees, and wild cherry trees.
From Saturday, March 23, 2024 to Sunday, April 7, 2024, the cherry blossoms will be illuminated at night from sunset until 9:30 pm, allowing you to enjoy the cherry blossoms at night.
There is also a ``Kuwana Castle moat tour'' (charges apply) where you can enjoy elegant cherry blossom viewing from a boat at the moat of the Kuwana Castle ruins!

Miyagawa Tsutsumi is a row of cherry blossom trees in full bloom stretching for approximately 1km along the Miyagawa River that flows through IseCity. It has been selected as one of Japan's Cherry Blossom Association's 100 Best Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan, and is illuminated during the cherry blossom viewing season, allowing you to enjoy the cherry blossoms at night.
The cherry blossoms will be illuminated from March 29th (Friday) to April 7th (Sunday), 2024.
