In the Nara period Bodhisattva Gyoki Founded by Taiganji Temple In the early Edo period,32The current main hall was rebuilt in the Kaei period by Tokurensha Honyo Taigan, a disciple of the great priest Sereigan.FourYear(1851) was rebuilt.

 

Taiganji Temple used to be a large temple with over 370koku of temple land andover 60large temple buildings. There are also wisteria trees in the temple grounds, and it is said that in 1868, sumo wrestler Myojogaku planted a wisteria sapling and prayed for it to bloom for a long time.

Taiganji Temple has a large wisteria tree and is known as one of the prefecture's leading wisteria viewing spots.

The 2024 Wisteria Festival is scheduled to take place from Thursday, April 25th to Wednesday, May 1st (9:00am - 5:00pm). In late  April, wisteria flowers will bloom all over the wisteria trellis that stretches across the temple grounds, and the area will be enveloped in the refreshing fragrance of wisteria.

The flowerclusterscan grow to over 1m in length, so it's fun to watch them bloom one by one from the top.

 

Also, if you look up at the sky from below, you can enjoy the wisteria flowers that look like chandeliers.

The small Jizo statue, smiling gently and huddled beneath wisteria flowers swaying in the breeze, is said to be a place where prayers for love success and marital harmony can be made.
