Introducing the 2024 Tanabata Festival and events in Mie Prefecture! Write your wishes on a tanzaku and enjoy the seasonal summer scenery!

掲載日:2024.06.26

July 7th is Tanabata Day. It is counted as one of the five seasonal festivals, and is known for the romantic legend that Orihime and Hikoboshi can meet in the Milky Way only once a year.

All over Mie Prefecture, there are events related to Tanabata, such as the Tanabata Festival, where people write their wishes on strips of paper and let them float down the river, and prayer festivals where people offer folded paper cranes and Tanabata strips of paper as prayers for success in love.

In this topic, we will introduce selected Tanabata festivals and events in Mie Prefecture.

Write your wish on a strip of paper, hang it on a bamboo leaf along with the decorations, and make a wish to a star. I'm sure everyone has done this when they were little. Why not take your children to events held in the midst of the bamboo decorations and bamboo-floating festivals this season?
