Matsusaka Castle Ruins (Matsuzaka Park)

It is also famous as a cherry blossom viewing spot in spring.

Hirayama Castle was built by Ujisato Gamo in 1588.
The magnificent stone walls, including the fields that still remain today, are a symbol of Matsusaka.
Cherry blossoms, wisteria, and ginkgo trees decorate the stone walls, making it popular with local residents throughout the year.
From the castle ruins, you can see a panoramic view of the town that retains the vestiges of the castle town.

In February 2011, it was designated as a national historic site.

Former Ozu Seizaemon family

Former Ozu Seizaemon family exterior

The residence of the wealthy merchant Ozu Seizaemon family, the largest paper wholesaler in Edo, has been opened to the public as a museum. Two storehouses remain inside the mansion, which is surprisingly spacious given its simple exterior with latticework and arches.
Among the exhibits, there is also a ``Manryobako'' instead of a ``Senryobako,'' which reminds us of the lifestyle of ``Ise merchants who owned stores in Edo.''
