Nohana iris, the original species of iris, is a perennial plant that grows naturally in mountain grasslands and wetlands. Their shapes and colors vary depending on the region, and collecting these flowers is thought to be the origin of horticultural cultivation. Although it was cultivated before the early Edo period, very few varieties from the early stages of cultivation survive, and we are left to rely on old documents. Irises are divided into Edo, Ise, Higo, American, etc. based on the region where they were improved. Our garden has been involved in the revival of Ise-style irises after the war, in a small way.Since the first time at Shichiro Maeda, we currently have 500 varieties of each lineage, 250,000 plants grown in 9cm pots, 12cm pots, and 21cm pots, and 300,000 plants grown outdoors. We produce it on a scale of 1 and ship it to seed companies, etc. During the flower blooming period in June, the garden is open to the public for free tours.

Access information by car

From the Meihan National Highway, turn left at the Ise Expressway Geino Interchange exit signal, then turn left at the first traffic light (Green Road), go straight for about 5.5km, turn left at the Kusao Kominami signal, and go straight for about 2km, pass two traffic lights, and our garden is about 200m away.
If you get off at Tsu Interchange, turn right at the exit signal and cross Sone Bridge for about 2km. TsuCity Ano Branch, turn left at the east traffic light, turn left about 300 meters ahead, turn left at the first traffic light, and our garden is located 200 meters ahead.
