Approximately 10,000 fireworks illuminate the scenic beauty!

With Onigajo in Yoshino-Kumano National Park in the background, a spectacular picture scroll of fireworks is displayed against the ocean, making it Kumanoji's biggest summer tradition. Approximately 10,000 fireworks illuminate the world heritage site beautifully.

Highlights include the maritime suicide bombing in which two ships running at full speed throw ignited firework balls one after another, the large-scale device using the rocky areas and caves of Onigajo, and the three-shaku ball maritime suicide bombing that spreads across the Kumano Sea. In addition to the explosion sound and blast wave from the fireworks themselves, the sound reflected from the rocky area and the echoing sound from the cave are also added to create a great impact.

The Kumano Fireworks Festival, which boasts a tradition of over 300 years, is said to have its origins in simple fireworks being set off to commemorate the first spirit of Obon, and the sparks from those fireworks being used to make lanterns.

Please check the URL below for the event status, parking lot, and paid viewing seats on the day of the event.
