Raigoji Temple Flame Festival
Date: September 28th every year
Make a wish to the flame that rises in the darkness
Candles with the names of the people prayed for are lined up to form a letter for the year.
The sound of bamboo flutes and Japanese drums that will be played while you go to Yakumo Shrine to pick up the torch from 6pm will soothe your soul.
As the chief priest chants sutras, worshipers place their hands together and pray for the safety of their families and the prosperity of their business.
