I usually travel around Mie Prefecture as a freelance writer and photographer.
In this fifth article, we will introduce ArashimaBeach the only municipal beach in TobaCity.
In addition to being a beach that the whole family can enjoy, there are many other must-see spots nearby, so you can enjoy your trip to Toba for more than just swimming.

ArashimaBeach is like this!

ArashimaBeach is located about 10minutes by car from Toba Station, and is a beach that local children often visit.

Although the beach is not very wide at 130mlong, the waves are calm and it is not crowded, making it popular with families with small children.
You can see Sugashima, Toba's remote island off the coast, and there are no major roads or private houses nearby, so it is a place that only those in the know know as a hidden beach where you can enjoy yourself in nature.
What catches your eye when you visit the coast is the high transparency of the sea water!

When you look at the rippling water's edge illuminated by the glittering sun, you can clearly see the particles of sand.
This year'sFiveA water quality survey of bathing areas in Mie Prefecture conducted in February revealed that the water quality was the highest.A.A.The quality of the water is highly acclaimed.
I was on the beach for a while for the photoshoot, but I didn't feel the smell of the ocean, and my skin didn't feel sticky, so I was able to spend a lot of time comfortably even without swimming.

There are 4cold showers outside, so men should wash their whole body here before changing their clothes in the changing room.

There are no lockers, so please manage your own luggage.

How to play at ArashimaBeach

The waves are calm and the water is clean, so it's perfect for making your first swim at the beach.
You can often see small children playing on the water's edge in floating rings.

Off the coast, you can see Sugashima, a remote island in Toba.
Also, in front of the changing rooms, the rocky area is exposed at low tide, so you can often see people using nets or buckets to observe wildlife.

Seeing realistic sea creatures living there, such as crabs and small fish living in tide pools, and turtles clinging to rocks, will stimulate your intellectual curiosity.
However, the area at the back of the coast is managed by the local fishing cooperative, so it is prohibited to catch any living creatures here.
Please follow the rules and have fun with local fishermen.

How to get to ArashimaBeach

We recommend using a car or bus to get to ArashimaBeach.
If you are using public transportation, take the Kamome bus bound for Anrajima from Toba Station (or Toba Bus Terminal next to Toba Station) and get off at the final stop, Anrajima.

If you go up the slope on the left side of the building called ``Anrakujima Butai'', youwill arrive at the beach in about5 minutes.

On the way back, if you take the bus bound for Obama from the Anrakujima bus stop, you will arrive at Toba Station (or Toba Bus Terminal) without changing trains.
If you are using a car, there is a parking lot managed by the local senior citizen's association right in front of the beach, so please park there.

Parking fee is 800yen per day.

The museum is full of interesting exhibits, including actual boats and fishing gear that were actually used!

Part 3 “Toba Marche”

Toba Marche, a farm direct sales store that sells seafood and agricultural products caught in Toba, is jointly operated by the Ise Agricultural Cooperative and the Toba Isobe Fisheries Cooperative.
The restaurant is filled with Toba's rich seafood, including freshly caught seafood, assorted sashimi, seaweed, and dried fish.

There are many processed foods such as seasonal vegetables and fruits, sweets, and bento boxes, so it's convenient not only for souvenirs but also for looking for tonight's dinner.
You can enjoy local specialties at the local buffet restaurant, which uses local ingredients, and at the take-out corner.
