Mie Prefectural Miekodomonoshiro

Mie Prefectural Miekodomonoshiro is a large children's center located in Chubudai Sports Park in MatsusakaCity.

There are various ways to enjoy the facility, including a play equipment corner, a craft experience space, and a state-of-the-art planetarium!

There are plenty of play areas for children, including a free block play corner, a rental corner for play equipment such as diabolo, and a picture book corner.

Chubudai Sports Park

Chubudai Sports Park is a park located in Tatenomachi, MatsusakaCity, and has various facilities such as a baseball field, tennis courts, an astronomical observation facility, and a gymnasium.

The park has a spacious lawn area, making it perfect for children who love running.

There is also a wide range of play equipment for small children, including slides, athletics, a sandbox, and even unusual play equipment such as an agitator.

Takegawa petting zoo

Takegawa Petting Zoo is a small zoo located in Shinmatsugashima-cho MatsusakaCity, and opened on May 19, 2019.

Riverside Chakura is an accommodation facility located in Iinan-cho, Matsusaka MatsusakaCity, along the clear stream of the Kushida River.

MatsusakaCity Sports Park Skate Park

MatsusakaCity General Sports Park Skate Park is Mie Prefecture's first public skate park, boasting the largest area (4,730㎡) in Japan!

There are areas for everyone from skateboarding beginners to advanced skateboarders, so you can skate according to your level.

MatsusakaCity Forest Park

MatsusakaCity Forest Park is a park rich in nature where you can enjoy camping, barbecues, and mountain climbing, and you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city from the observation deck.

You can enjoy a charcoal-grilled barbecue at the old-fashioned Shichirin Nagaya, and you can bring your own food. *Reservation required

松名瀬フィッシングパーク (松阪市)

Matsunase Fishing Park is a land-based fishing pond located in Matsunase-cho, MatsusakaCity.

You can catch a variety of fish, including the flounder we raise in-house, as well as yellowtail, sea bream, and sea bass.

The fishing pond is connected to the land, so it is safe for beginners, and there is no need to make a reservation, and equipment can be rented.

Kasamatsu Kawazu Sakura Road

Kasamatsu Kawazu-zakura Road is a 1.5km long line of Kawazu-zakura trees along the agricultural canal in Kasamatsu-cho MatsusakaCity.

There are approximately 350 Kawazu cherry trees, and you can see an arch of cherry blossoms surrounding the waterway.

It usually starts blooming around mid-February and reaches its peak in early March.

The petals are less likely to be blown away by the wind than Someiyoshino, so you can enjoy cherry blossom viewing until mid-March.

Michi-no-eki Chakura station

Chakura Michi-no-eki is Michi-no-eki located along National Route 166.

The station building, which looks like a log house, is located on top of a small hill, and is a popular place for tourists and local residents to relax.

There is an observation deck and a large suspension bridge outside, making it a spectacular vantage point from which to view the local scenery and the clear Kushida River.

kahadavalley

kahadavalley (pronounced ``Kahadakyo'') is a gorge located along National Route 166 in MatsusakaCity.

The beauty of kahadavalley Gorge can be seen from National Route 166, and the clear stream of the Kushida River, sparkling in emerald green, flows along the road.

It is also a valley where you can see the scenery of each season, such as cherry blossoms and autumn leaves, and it is crowded with tourists on bicycles and tours.

Dandan rice field in Fukano

Fukano Dandan Rice Fields are rice terraces located in the Fukano district of Iinan-cho MatsusakaCity.

There are approximately 120 stone rice terraces, and it is said to have been developed between the Muromachi and Edo periods.

Due to its characteristics and scenery, it has been designated as a ``Tsunagara Rice Terrace Heritage Site'' selected by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

美濃田竹林街道 (松阪市)

The Minota Bamboo Grove is a 180m long "bamboo forest road" that boasts a beauty reminiscent of Kyoto's Arashiyama.

There are benches for you to take a break, and wind chimes make soothing sounds.

There is an approximately 840m walking course from the east parking lot of Bell Farm, Matsusaka Agricultural BellFarm, via the Minota Bamboo Forest, to the Minota Daibutsu, so why not visit it as a set?

松阪農業公園ベルファーム (松阪市)

Matsusaka Agricultural Park BellFarm is an agricultural park that opened on April 21, 2004 and has a vast site of approximately 23 hectares.

There are plazas, ponds, farms, and gardens within the park, so you can enjoy nature while taking a walk.

The English Garden has a variety of faces throughout the four seasons, and is made up of nine areas, including a rose garden and herb garden, each with a different look to enjoy.

The rose season from May to June is full of gorgeous colors and fragrances, and the park is crowded with visitors.

Hananoki at Iinan High School

On the premises of Mie Prefectural Iinan High School, there is a Japanese Hananoki (flowering tree) that is about 25 meters high and turns bright red in autumn.

It is a huge tree that is approximately 80 to 90 years old and has a trunk circumference of 4 meters.The leaves turn red from early November and reach their peak in autumn in mid-November.

Ceramic art space Rainbow Fountain

Deep in the mountains of Iidaka-cho, MatsusakaCity, Kenji Higashi, a potter who grew up in the area, has created a ceramic art space called ``Ceramic Space Niji no Izumi'' over a period of 35 years.

Although he aimed to fill 5,800 square meters of land with ceramics, he suddenly passed away at the age of 74 in 2013, leaving the masterpiece unfinished.

Admission tickets are sold at Hase Station in Iidakacho, MatsusakaCity.

富士見ヶ原 (松阪市)

Fujimigahara has a 3.7ha hill of native azaleas and a 5.7ha forest experience area near the top.

On clear days, you can see a panoramic view of Ise Bay, and there is also a 2km long promenade and observation deck.

*The best time to see azaleas is from late April to mid-May.

春谷寺のエドヒガン桜 (松阪市)

The Edohigan cherry tree at Shunkokuji Temple is estimated to be 400 years old, and is a large tree with a tree height and branch spread of about 10 meters, and a trunk circumference of about 4 meters.

It is also called "Higanzakura" and blooms from late March to early April.

Stone Buddha statues of various sizes are lined up under the cherry blossoms, and are lit up when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.

Matsuzaka Castle Ruins

Matsuzaka Castle is a Hirayama castle built by Gamo Ujisato in 1588, and there is an anecdote that it was completed approximately three years after construction began.

There used to be a three-story castle tower, but now only the magnificent stone walls remain, conveying the essence of the castle to the present day.

The castle ruins have been developed as a park, with cherry blossoms, wisteria, and ginkgo trees decorating the stone walls, and there is also an observation spot where you can see the townscape.

GojobanYashiki

GojobanYashiki is a samurai residence in a nagaya where the samurai who served as the guard of Matsuzaka Castle lived.

One unit at the north end of the west building is open to the public for free viewing, and is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed on Mondays and during the year-end and New Year holidays.
*If Monday is a holiday, the museum will be closed the next day.

The interior of the building is characterized by a spacious dirt floor with no ceiling, and the floor plan from the Edo period has been faithfully preserved.

旧長谷川治郎兵衛家 (松阪市)

The former Hasegawa Jirobe family is the main residence of the Hasegawa Jirobe family, whose trade name was Tanbaya, a cotton wholesaler from the Edo period.

The building contains commercial materials, old documents, commercial tools, daily necessities, etc. that have been kept since the company's founding, and some of them are on display.

There is a strolling garden behind the storehouse, where you can feel the beauty of ancient Japan.

珍布峠 (松阪市)

Mezurashi-togePass is a cut-through in Iidaka-cho, MatsusakaCity, located on the old Wakayama Highway.

It is said that it came to be called ``Mezurashi Pass'' because Amaterasu Omikami and Amagoyane no Mikoto met and said ``Oh, Mezurashiya!''.

The quay walls that are much higher than you are towering on both sides, making it quite impressive.

粥見井尻遺跡(日本最古の土偶) (松阪市)

Kayumi Ijiri Ruins is a site where in 1996, an almost complete clay figurine from the earliest days of the Jomon period, believed to be the oldest in Japan, was discovered.

It attracted attention from all over the country as a great clue for understanding the lives of people and the state of society at that time.

White boar mountain

Shiraisan is a mountain with an altitude of 819m, and the top of the mountain has a slightly pointed shape.

It was called the ``Miss of Ise'' by sailors who traveled to Ise Bay, and it was used as a landmark for navigation.

The view near the top of the mountain is good, and you can see the surrounding mountains and the cityscape.

The ``Natsumei Course'' is very popular with beginner mountain climbers as it allows you to climb like a hike.

堀坂山 (松阪市)

Mt. Horisaka (Hossakayama) is a mountain with an altitude of 757m, and is called one of the ``Three Stars of Ise'' along with Mt. Chogatake and Mt. Shiranui.

The summit is a spectacular view point from the Ise Plain to Ise Bay!

The ``Horisaka Pass Course'' is a well-maintained mountain climbing route, so even beginners can enjoy it as if they were hiking.

局ヶ岳 (松阪市)

Tsubonegatake is a mountain with an altitude of 1028.7m, and from the summit you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of Ise Bay and the city.

Along with Mt. Horisaka and Mt. Shiranui, it is called the ``Three Stars of Ise,'' and is also called ``Mt. Yarigatake of Ise'' because the mountain is pyramid-shaped and sharp.

The route from the "New Mountain Trail" trailhead is well-maintained, so even beginners can enjoy the trail.
