Isshi Town has many ruins dating from the Jomon and Yayoi periods to the Kofun period, showing that people have lived here since ancient times. Furthermore, as evidenced by the ruins of Josen-ji Temple and Bakko-ji Temple, which are said to be temples from the Hakuho period, Yamato culture has flourished in the area since ancient times through the road connecting Yamato and Ise.
In May 1985, the Isshi Town Agricultural Cooperative opened a local museum attached to its Takaoka store as part of its 20th anniversary commemorative project, in order to collect agricultural tools and daily necessities nurtured by this climate and lifestyle, and to leave behind the footprints of our predecessors. , our JA took over. Later, in January 2001, it was designated as the ``Mie Middle Town Museum'' and has become an excellent facility to learn about local agriculture.
In December 2005, the agricultural warehouse was renovated,
A local museum as a part of “Isshi Town’s life”
A local museum that serves as the “entrance to charming Isshi Town”
Local museums as “places for people, things, and information”
Aiming to achieve this goal, in addition to traditional sericulture, silk reeling, agriculture and forestry, and daily necessities, we are exhibiting historical materials related to Ichishi Town.
