Shidekobushi is a small deciduous tree that belongs to the Magnoliaceae family.
The flowers are long and slender, about 7-10 cm long and white or pale pink in early spring before the leaves grow.
It is limited to the three Tokai prefectures around Ise Bay, and as fossils have been discovered in old strata, it is considered to be one of the oldest fossil plants that developed and differentiated in the Japanese archipelago, and is considered a living fossil. It is also said that
