Wakamiya Hachimangu Shrine is the oldest in Japan and is said to have been built in the early 5th century AD, with Emperor Nintoku and Empress Iwanohime as its main deities. In the Middle Ages, it became a sacred place for Shugendo, and the Kitabatake clan, the governor of Ise province, and the Todo family, the lords of the Tsu domain, used it as a place of prayer for generations. It is also a place of great faith among the common people who wish for longevity and prosperity, and there are worshipers from all over the country.
