A particularly large camphor tree that is said to be over 1000 years old.

A historic shrine that was enshrined as the location of Kasuga Taisha in Yamato.
The sacred kounogi tree is estimated to be over 1,000 years old and is one of the largest trees in the prefecture, with a height of 35m, a root circumference of 29m, and a trunk of 12m.
The legend of dividing the country into Ise and Yamato has been passed down from generation to generation. (Prefecturally designated natural monument)

From JR/Kintetsu Matsusaka Station, take the bus bound for Sumeru or Kamikikaji for 63 minutes and get off at Akaoke.

Access by car

From Ise Expressway "Matsusaka IC", take Route 166 towards Sakurai for about 50 minutes.
