Kusunoki Shrine (Kusunomiya)

jinkyu Kusuhime no Mikoto (Saio of Amaterasu Omikami). After his death, the fishermen built a grave, planted a camphor tree, and enshrined it as Kusunoki oaki in order to repay him for his kindness. It has been revered since ancient times as a guardian deity of long life, maritime safety, and the satisfaction of a big catch. The festival is celebrated on January 22nd of the lunar calendar, and is affectionately known as Kusunoki-san.
