In 2024, the Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms will begin to bloom!

In TsuCity, located in the Nakasei area of Mie Prefecture, where the declaration of flowering is awaited, as of March 27, 2024, the buds have swelled and are expected to bloom soon.

Among the cherry blossom viewing spots, we have selected some famous spots where the cherry blossoms are beautiful at night! We will introduce in detail the places where you can enjoy the fantastic cherry blossoms illuminated with lanterns, transportation access, etc.

Introducing Mie Prefecture's "must-see" cherry blossom spots!

It's nice to enjoy cherry blossom viewing under the spring sunshine, but the cherry blossoms illuminated at night are also very atmospheric and wonderful.

The sight of pale pink flowers blooming all over against the darkness is fantastic and romantic♪

Nabananosato Blossom Festival (KuwanaCity)

Expected to bloom around late March
*Special display of cherry blossom trees
*Light-up available at peak viewing times


Of the more than 300 Someiyoshino cherry trees planted around Nabananosato, the west waterfront area boasts about 120 cherry blossom trees with wonderful branches. During the peak viewing period, approximately 50 trees along the walking route will be illuminated (planned), allowing you to enjoy the cherry blossoms at night.

Tsu Kairaku Park Spring Festival (TsuCity)

Light-up period: March 22, 2024 (Friday) to April 7, 2024 (Sunday)
*There will be night stalls and tea shops, and about 250 lanterns and lanterns will be lit.


Tsukairaku Park is affectionately known as ``Tsu Park,'' and approximately 1,000 cherry blossom trees are in full bloom inside the Japanese garden-style park. During the spring festival, it is lit up and you can enjoy the cherry blossoms at night along with the teahouses and night stalls.

The cherry blossoms at Ueno Park are a beautiful collaboration of Hakuho Castle and cherry blossoms. Ueno Park is home to Iga Ueno Castle, which has one of the tallest stone walls in Japan, and is home to many Yoshino cherry trees in full bloom, creating a beautiful sight that looks as if the castle is covered in mist in the spring. The cherry blossoms and castle illuminated at night with lanterns are fantastic and worth seeing.

``Miyagawa Bank Sakura'' is located along the Miyagawa River in the Nakajima district IseCity. It blooms from around late March, and you can see about 1,000 cherry blossom trees. It has been selected as one of Japan's top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots, and is illuminated at night, so you can enjoy the cherry blossoms at night. There are also stalls and you can enjoy the lively cherry blossoms at night.

The park built on the ruins of Matsuzaka Castle is a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing, with its majestic stone walls and cherry blossoms. During the event, the stone walls and cherry blossoms of the Matsuzaka Castle ruins will be illuminated with floodlights, snow caves, lanterns, family crest projectors, and wealthy merchant town projectors. The Honmaru light-up, which has been held since last year, will also have a new video. (The Honmaru light-up is only on Saturdays and Sundays. In case of rain, it will be canceled)

Tamaru Castle Ruins/Sakura Festival: Sunday, April 7, 2024

The cherry blossoms are illuminated at night to coincide with the best time to see the Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms, so you can enjoy the cherry blossoms at night. On Sunday, April 7, 2024, a cherry blossom festival will be held around the Tamaru Castle ruins!
