One of Seiryu Chaya's popular menu items is the "Seiryu Gozen." It is a very satisfying set that includes salt-grilled, fried, tempura, and deep-fried sweetfish in vinegar, pickles, rice, and miso soup!

The sweetfish in June is still young, so the meat is soft and you can eat the salt-grilled fish, even the bones, without feeling strange. The fried fish is filleted and the bones are removed, so it is easy for children to eat.

Sweetfish sashimi

Sweetfish sashimi

When young sweetfish are in season, they are soft and melt in your mouth, but from around July when the flesh firmens, it becomes chewy and firm. It has no unpleasant odor and is easy to eat, making it a rare dish that you will want to order again and again.
