[Tonomiya Shiho Shrine] Kigen Festival

Date: February 11, 2025

February 11th of every year is National Foundation Day, which is a national holiday and is designated as a day to remember the founding of the country and cultivate a love for the country.
This day marks the day when Emperor Jimmu was enthroned as the first emperor at Kashihara Palace, and in 1888, the government designated it as Kigen-setsu to celebrate the founding of Japan, and it became a public holiday.
After the war, opportunities to celebrate the founding of the homeland were closed off due to GHQ's occupation policy, but in 1966, the people's wishes for legislation came true, and it was re-established as National Foundation Day, which continues to this day.
The Kigen Festival marks the birthday of our country, and is a festival to remember the spirit of Emperor Jimmu, who founded the nation, and to pray for the prosperity of the imperial family, the prosperity of the nation, and the peace of the people. same day every year
