You can see the nationally designated Important Intangible Folk Cultural Properties up close.

Among the Kanko dances in the prefecture, this dance is said to be representative of the Amegori lineage, and is similar to the Furyu dance that was popular from the middle of the Edo period.
Many of the dances have a slow tempo, and the sight of the dancers carrying Ochizui draped with colorful flowers on their backs and beating the drums attached to their chests is unique to this region.
As the six dancers dance to the beat of the song and drums, the sight of the gorgeous ochizui blooming gracefully is a sacred dance that captivates the hearts of those who watch it. In addition, monkeys, red horses, and black horses are at the front of the procession as it crosses from Otabisho, and it moves lively, surprising and bothering children and onlookers along the approach.

On January 11, 1963 (Showa 38), it was designated as a prefectural intangible folk cultural property, and on November 11, 1971 (Showa 46), it was designated as an intangible folk cultural property that should be subject to measures such as the creation of national records. It was designated as a national important intangible folk cultural property on March 8, 2018 (Heisei 30). Subsequently, it was decided to be registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage on November 30, 2022.
