In Mie Prefecture, there are many mountains where azaleas grow naturally, such as Mt.Gozaisho in KomonoTown and Mt. Ohira in TaikiTown, and you can see azaleas blooming all over the area.
Spring is the season for going out. Why not go hiking and see the azaleas?

KyukaPark Azalea Festival (KuwanaCity)
Approximately 550 azaleas (Hirado azalea, Omurasaki azalea) bloom around late April at Kuwana Castle KyukaPark, delighting visitors. The Goldfish Festival will also be held during the Azalea Festival, so please invite everyone to come along.

Azalea of Mt.Asama (Ise-Shima Skyline) (IseCity)

Azalea of Mt.Gozaisho (KomonoTown)
Mt.Gozaisho has a beautiful season of azaleas and fresh greenery.
The Gozaisho's representative ``red palm'' blooms in mid-April, and after that, a relay of white palm, red palm, red palm, and azalea is connected. In addition, wild plants such as the Tateyamamarindo will soothe your feet. Also, many wild birds come to visit this rich natural environment. Azalea at Tsukairaku Park (TsuCity)
Tsukairaku Park used to be called ``Mizansoyama'' and began when Takayuki Todo, the 11th lord of the Tsu domain, ran a villa there during the Ansei era. Currently, it is affectionately known as "Tsu Park" and is a place of relaxation for citizens. Approximately 1,000 cherry trees and 3,300 azaleas are planted in the park, which is crowded with people every April and May.

Azalea in Yono Park (IgaCity)
Yono Park in IgaCity is home to approximately 15,000 azaleas, one of the largest in Kansai.
Located at the southernmost tip of Suzuka Quasi-National Park, there are three representative types of azaleas that grow wild or are planted within the park: Yamatsutsuji, Mochitsutsuji, and Miyakotsutsutsuji. In addition, there are Mt. Mae Mokko and Mt. Go Mokko in the park, and the azaleas that bloom covering the entire mountain area are spectacular.

Azalea pilgrimage at Inatomi Shrine (SuzukaCity)
Inatomi Shrine is also known as ``Tsutsuji Mountain,'' and there are about 5,000 purple azaleas growing in the shrine grounds.

Sone Castle Ruins (Shiroyama Park) (OwaseCity)
This castle ruins is located on the top of Shiroyama, 180m above sea level, rising to the southwest of Sone Town, and is a natural mountain castle also known as Ichimejo Castle, Sugi Castle, or Tsutsuji Castle. In spring, the purple azaleas are in full bloom, and the view of the entire Wannai area is spectacular.

Azalea of Mt. Ohira Azalea (Taiki Town, TaikiTown)
Approximately 10,000 azaleas of several types grow wild on the 6-hectare mountainside of Mt. Ohira, and from mid-April to early May, the entire area is covered with azaleas.
It was designated as a scenic spot by the prefecture in 1932.

Fujimigahara azalea (MatsusakaCity)
It takes about 40 minutes. Near the top, there is a 3.7ha hill of native azaleas. On a clear day, you can see a panoramic view of Ise Bay.

Azalea of AoyamaPlateau (IgaCity)
Countless azaleas grow wild in AoyamaPlateau area, and the flowers bloom all at once in mid-May, creating a spectacular sight. The area near the highest point on the plateau is especially famous for azalea viewing. Tens of thousands of Ericaceae flowers are in full bloom.
You can enjoy the azaleas by taking a walk along the promenade from the triangulation point to Maruyama Grassland. The view from Maruyama Grassland, located about 1.5 km from the trig point, is outstanding, but the number of azaleas has decreased considerably in recent years due to damage from deer and typhoon wind damage.

Arataki Fudoson Azalea Festival (MatsusakaCity)
Atsuji-no-Sato Arataki, a famous place for viewing thousands of azaleas, is crowded every year with throwing mochi and other events.

Jo no Castle Azalea Festival (OwaseCity)
There are 2,600 purple azaleas growing wild in Jo-no-jo Castle (Sone Castle Ruins), located at an altitude of 180m in the southwest of Sone Town, and Shiroyama Park at the foot of the mountain, and the best time to see them is around mid-April.

Azalea Park of Iso Shrine (IseCity)
It was founded in the 25th year of the reign of Emperor Suinin, and when Wahime no Mikoto worshiped Amaterasu-Omikami and stayed at the shrine here, it was called Isomiya. After the great deity was enshrined on the banks of the Isuzu River in Uji, Isonomiya was called Iso Shrine, and has been widely worshiped as one of the Engishiki shrines since ancient times.
The area around the temple grounds is filled with azaleas, and during the peak viewing season, the area is surrounded by bright pink and white flowers.
