Wooden Medicine Buddha Seated Statue
Wooden Medicine Buddha Seated Statue

It was founded by the monk Gyoki in 736.
The wooden seated statue of Yakushi Nyorai, the principal image of Korenji Temple, is a prefecturally designated tangible cultural property. It is 89.4 centimeters tall, has shallow carvings on its robe, and a round face with a gentle expression. Approximately 400 meters south of Korenji Temple is the site of the checkpoint where toll taxes were collected.
This checkpoint was attacked by the Oda forces during the Tensho era and disappeared, but in the Tensho 11th year, Toyotomi Hideyoshi set up camp during the strategy of Kazumasu Takigawa on nagashima, and issued a sign to show that Korenji should be taken care of. It is reported that he did.
