Shidekobushi is a small deciduous tree of the Magnoliaceae family.
In 1990, it was confirmed that there was a large-scale natural habitat of the Japanese horned beetle in KomonoTown tabika.
The local hornworts grow in clusters on the hills of the valley where spring water from a tributary of tabika River flows, and spread out in a belt-like area for about 900 meters.
Approximately 200 plants grow within the designated area, and the diameter at breast height is approximately 5 cm, with some larger plants exceeding 20 cm.
It was designated as a national natural monument on March 2, 2005 (H17).
