Tayu's big camphor

Tayu's big camphor
Tayu's big camphor

It was originally called Rokubon Kusunoki, and it is said that there were six trees. During the Tensho era (1573-92), a samurai from Mikawa hid in this camphor tree and survived. Later, that camphor tree withered, so a tree was planted as a commemoration, which is said to be the current camphor tree. The tree trunk is approximately 60 meters high above the ground and has a trunk circumference of 10.8 meters. City natural monument.
