Kangakuji Kangakuji

Kangakuji Temple
Kangakuji Temple

It is located at the top of a hill in a quiet residential area from Umamichi Station.
This is where Yada Castle was located during the Sengoku period, and was destroyed by Oda Nobunaga, but the main hall was rebuilt on the site by Sadashige Matsudaira, the lord of the Kuwana domain.
It is estimated to be the oldest existing temple/shrine structure in KuwanaCity.
Adjacent to the temple is Hashiriiyama Park, which is famous as a cherry blossom viewing spot that overlooks the bay area of KuwanaCity.
