In ancient times, when Yamatohime no Mikoto toured Yamato and Ise in search of a place to enshrine a shrine, a shrine was built here as a resting place, and after the shrine was settled in Ise, a shrine was built behind the shrine as the Shinmeisha of the divine territory. It is said that this shrine was founded, and is also called Shindate Shinmei Shrine or Shindate Myojin Shrine.
As sacred treasures, there is an iron-glazed chrysanthemum-patterned sacred sake jar made by Nobuyuki and inscribed in 1687 (city-designated cultural property), which is a pioneer of the inscriptions made in 1435 (1704). ), and a sword and tachi (city-designated cultural property) made by Kuwana swordsmith Muramasa and dated 1553, and other valuable cultural assets are housed here.
