Iifukudaji Temple is said to have been founded by En no Gyoja during the reign of Emperor Monmu. The area around Iifukuda-dera Temple is a sacred place for Shugendo called Ise Sanjo, and there are many practices such as ``Iwaya Hondo'', ``Kagami-gake'', and ``Aburokoboshi''. (Prefecturally designated scenic spot)
