~A prayer dance for a bountiful harvest held at a place connected to saikuu and Takejinja Shrine~

Ema, one of the Noh plays, has its roots in Takejinja saikuu in what is now Saiku, MeiwaTown Mie Prefecture.
A Noh performance dedicated to IseJingu will be held in this historic place, which has a long history as the home of Saio, a princess who served saikuu.
Please come and visit us.

[Synopsis]
At the end of the year (present-day Setsubun), he was sent to IseJingu as an imperial envoy of the Emperor of Time, and visited saikuu (present-day Saiku, Meiwa-cho, Taki-saikuu MeiwaTown Prefecture). Then, on the night of Setsubun (New Year's Eve in the old days), an event was held at a shrine (present-day Take Shrine) to hang votive tablets, so the imperial envoy decided to watch it before returning to the capital.
As I was waiting at the shrine for the event to take place, an old man and an old woman came to visit in the middle of the night.
The old man had a votive tablet with a white horse on it, and the old woman had a votive tablet with a black horse on it.
In fact, white ema meant sunny days, and black ema meant rain, and depending on which ema was hung at the shrine, one could tell whether the next year would be sunny or rainy, and one or the other ema was hung every year.
The two argued about hanging their own ema, but in the end they decided to hang each other's ema next to each other.
Then, I decided to pray for a year in which there would be half sunny days and half rainy days.
The two men then revealed to the imperial messenger who was watching the scene that they were gods, and said they would meet again at dawn, and then disappeared.
At dawn, the god and goddess appeared, and then Amaterasu appeared. While dancing, Mikami recreates the scene of `` Amanoiwato.''
Celebrate the prosperity of the country.

* saikuu (Saikū, Saiku, Itsukinomiya): Refers to a shrine where a female member of the imperial family (Saiō) who serves the god of Ise instead of the emperor lives.
