What is VISON?

VISON, located in TakiTown, Mie Prefecture, opened in July 2021 as one of the largest resort facilities in Japan.

The site, which is the size of 24 Tokyo Domes (119ha), has restaurants, experience facilities, hot spring baths, and an area where you can stay overnight, so you can spend the whole day there.

VISON has accommodations and restaurants that allow pets, so it's very popular with dogs!

In this article, I will introduce my experience of enjoying meals and lodging with my dog at VISON.

What is HotelVison?

HotelVison is an accommodation facility located in VISON, which has a hotel wing and a villa wing.

The hotel building has a total of 155 guest rooms, and the villa building has six villas that can be rented out.

There are rooms in both the hotel and villa buildings where you can stay with your dog, and this time we stayed in a dog double room in the hotel building.

The parking lot is adjacent to the hotel building, so check-in to the front desk was smooth.

Next, I will introduce how I stayed in a dog double room for 1 night and 2 days.

The Dog Double Room is a newly introduced room in June 2023 and features a queen bed and a cage.

The room is 35 square meters in size, and you can move your dog onto the floor, so you can stay with your dog in a spacious space.

You can bring up to 2 dogs with you, one dog weighing up to 15kg, two dogs weighing up to 10kg each.

To stay overnight, proof of rabies vaccination and 5 or more types of vaccinations is required.

We also have plenty of amenities for your dog, and the following items are available at no additional charge.

My dog is a small Papillon, and the size of the cage was just right.

The dog toilet can be spread out or propped up, so it's easy for your dog to put his feet up and relieve himself.

The bathroom, toilet, and sink in the dog double room are separate, and all are spacious.

The bathroom has an overhead shower and a body shower from the side (*only for some room types), and the sink is fully stocked with amenities ♫

The large windows in the rooms offer panoramic views of VISON and the surrounding mountains.

The atmosphere is different during the day and at night, so be sure to take a look at both views 🎵

Near the refrigerator, there is a kettle and individually wrapped coffee and tea bags.

These packs are VISON originals and can be purchased at the front desk, so they make great souvenirs.

The tea packs are made with Ise GreenTea, which is certified by the Mie brand, and the packaging features illustrations of Mie's famous spots such as Meotoiwa(rocksofthemarriedcouple) and IseJingu.

About the hot bath facility “Honsoyu”

Near the hotel building, there is a hot spring bath called Honzoyu, which guests can use at no additional charge.

Honzoyu is a hot spring facility that offers medicinal herbal baths developed in collaboration with Mie University and Rohto Pharmaceutical, and you can enjoy a variety of hot springs depending on the season.

Honsoyu also has a stylish cafe where you can enjoy original drinks that are perfect after a bath.

It can also be used as a hot spring facility for day trips, so it is also recommended for those who want to take a break after returning from a trip.

There is a direct route from the hotel building to Honzoyu, which can be reached in a few minutes on foot.

There are elevators along the way, so the building is barrier-free.

By the way, there is a free drink service near the front desk of the hotel building, so why not stop by after your bath?

In addition to Minute Maid grapes and oranges, there was a wide variety of Calpis, Calpis soda, oolong tea, carbonated water, and Coca-Cola. (*Subject to change)

About Honsoyu

About meals at Hotel Visson

Hotel Vison's meal plans include plans where you eat at the restaurant within the hotel and plans where you eat at the restaurant within VISON.

If you wish to eat at VISON 's restaurant, please select a meal plan when making your reservation.

For this stay, I had a plan that included breakfast, so I chose ``Ureshino Tofu Top'' for breakfast.

Dinner will be served at ``Additive-free Shop Okume'' in VISON.

I will introduce the food report for dinner and breakfast in detail below.

Dinner is a set meal of ash-dried mackerel at Ome.

``Okume'' in the Wavison area is a store that sells additive-free foods, and you can make the world's first ``custom-made soup pack'' in-store.

The restaurant serves Japanese set meals made with additive-free ingredients and seasonings, and the last order is 8:30 p.m., so it's also recommended for those who want to enjoy a leisurely dinner.

Dogs are allowed on the terrace seats, and should be placed in a pet cart or placed on a mat if they are allowed to sit on the terrace.

What I ordered for dinner that day was the ``Ashi-boshi mackerel set meal'' (1,350 yen), which is a set menu that allows you to eat freshly grilled ash-boshi mackerel.

``Ashboshi mackerel'' is a dried mackerel made using a method called ``ashboshi'' that uses volcanic ash to remove the moisture from the fish.

This method removes water and excess fat from the fish without exposing it to air, resulting in odor-free dried fish.

The meat of the ash-dried mackerel was thick and plump when grilled, with just the right amount of fat, juicy and delicious🎵

At Ogume, there are several types of grilled fish set meals, and each fish is grilled over charcoal after being ordered, so you can enjoy the grilled fish even more deliciously.

The miso soup for the set meal was made using dashi packs sold in the store, and the flavor of the seafood soup went perfectly with the rice and grilled fish.

The small side dishes are also very delicious, and my favorite is the eggplant stew.

The eggplant has been stewed until it's soft, and when you put it in your mouth, it has a melt-in-your-mouth texture!

About “Additive-Free Shop Ogume”

Breakfast is a tofu set meal with "Ureshino Tofu Nose"

``Ureshino Tofu Nose'' located in the Wavison area is a store operated by Nose Shoten, a tofu manufacturer in MatsusakaCity in VISON.

You can enjoy ``Ureshino Tofu'' produced by Nose Shoten at VISON, and the menu includes ``Freshly Made Yose Tofu'' and ``Tofu Donuts.''

The hotel's breakfast menu is a set meal featuring warm, freshly made tofu, and must be reserved in advance at check-in or when making reservations.

In addition to tofu, there is a wide variety of set meals, including salmon meuniere, dashi rolls, ginger-grilled and boiled ganmo with Ureshino tofu, miso soup, and seasonal side dishes.

From November 2023, the breakfast will be changed to a place where you can enjoy homemade tofu using bittern.

Until November, freshly made tofu was provided, but now you can make and enjoy the tofu yourself.

Making tofu is very easy; just add the specified amount of bittern to a bowl containing tofu stock solution and wait for 1 minute.

Through scientific reactions, tofu is ready in no time, and you can enjoy freshly made, warm tofu.

The taste of tofu changes over time, so one way to enjoy it is to eat it at different times.

The taste was exquisitely delicious with its thick texture and rich soybean flavor.

Ureshino Tofu Nose is dog-friendly, so it is also recommended for those who want to eat with their dog.

If you are bringing your dog with you, you can place them in a pet cart, place a mat on the chair, or hold them in your arms.

The ``Tofu donuts'' and ``Tofu'' available at this restaurant are safe for dogs to eat, so you can enjoy the meal with your dog.

My dog happily ate the freshly made tofu from the breakfast menu.

About “Ureshino Tofu Top”

Have fun at the dog run with your dog

"ani TERRACE" in the farm area has a vast dog run divided into three areas: small dogs, small and medium-sized dogs, and large dogs.

The area for small and medium-sized dogs and large dogs has a good view, and is a location where you can see the great outdoors of TakiTown.

The dog run usage fees are as follows:

・Free entry and exit all day: 1,500 yen
・60 minutes: 1,000 yen

For the 60-minute 1,000 yen plan, if the usage time exceeds 60 minutes, an additional charge of 500 yen will be charged.

In that case, the plan will change to 1,500 yen per day, so you can come and go as you like throughout the day.

In addition to the dog run, there is also a free rest area where you can relax with your dog under the roof.

There are table seats here and equipment to secure your dog's leash, so it's the perfect place to take a break with your dog.

Additionally, there is a panel for dogs that shows their faces, so you can enjoy taking commemorative photos with your dog.

You can take photos that look just like your Instagram screen.

ani TERRACE also has a pet hotel where you can temporarily leave your dog.

All rooms at this pet hotel are private rooms, and the prices are as follows.

About Aniterasu

Lunch is the ultimate salt knot at “Toyono Yonekura”

``Toyonou Rice Store'' located in the Wavison area is a select shop that offers meal menus using the ``Musubi no Kami'' rice dedicated IseJingu, as well as rice accompaniments and miscellaneous goods.

Dogs are also welcome in the store as long as they are brought in a pet car or held.

You can eat with your dog at the 8 seats in the restaurant, so it's a popular restaurant for people with dogs.

This time, I had the ``Ultimate Salt Musubi W (2 pieces) ¥700'' for lunch🎵

The ultimate salt musubi was made using 100% of the rice dedicated to IseJingu, ``Musubi no Kami'', and was delicious with a gentle saltiness and delicious salt musubi that allowed you to enjoy the deliciousness of the rice.

By the way, it is said to be cooked in a hakama pot along with Iwato salt dedicated to IseJingu.

The takuan that accompanies the ultimate salt knot can be purchased at Hayashi Shoten, which is located next to Toyonou Rice Store.

Why not buy ``Wakadaikon Shirazuke'' (¥650), which contains a whole radish as a souvenir?

You can also order miso soup as a set for the ultimate salt knot.

For the miso soup set, you can choose one of five different seasonings to order.

The taste is delicious with plenty of chicken flavor!

For dessert, I ordered ``rice soft serve ice cream ¥500.''

As the name suggests, it is a soft serve ice cream made with rice, and is made with ``musubi no kami,'' which is cooked in-house.

The taste of the soft serve ice cream was delicious with a refreshing taste that was not too sweet🎵

``Musubi no Kami'' and ``Iwato Salt'' are sold in the store, so why not buy them as souvenirs?

``Musubi no Kami'' is available in individual packages that fit in the palm of your hand, and the package design is stylish, making it perfect for giving as a gift.

About Toyonou Rice Storehouse

Tea time with your dog at “HAPPA STAND”

"HAPPA STAND" located in the Wavison area is a store based on the concept of "tea" and "ware", which are traditional Japanese culture.

In addition to sencha and roasted green tea, the menu includes a wide range of cafe menu items such as roasted green tea latte.

There are seats in the store where you can spend time with your dog, so it's very popular with people who want to spend cafe time with their dog!

I also use this store every time I go to VISON with my dog.

My favorite menu items in particular are "Sencha Latte" and "Sencha".

The taste has an exquisite balance of sweetness and astringency, which is unique to Sencha, and it goes down the throat comfortably, giving you a refreshing feeling every time you take a sip.

Each cup of tea or latte you order is carefully poured, so the flavor is exceptional.

In addition, the tea provided at HAPPA STAND is organically grown, so it tastes good for your body.

About HAPPA STAND

Eating around with your dog at “Marche Visson”

Marche Vison is an area supervised by Ryuji Teshima, a one-star chef in Paris in the Michelin Guide, and is a large building with a triangular roof.

There are many restaurants here where you can enjoy gourmet food made with ingredients caught in and around Mie Prefecture!

There is a wide variety of food, including seafood, meat, vegetables, and sweets, so you are sure to find your favorite restaurant.

There are many restaurants that offer take-out menus, so it's also an area where you can enjoy eating while walking.

Gas shrimp is a rare shrimp that lives in deep waters around 500 meters deep, and is characterized by its extremely delicious taste.

It's a favorite dish that I order every time I come to VISON, and once you try it, you'll be addicted to the condensed aroma and flavor of the shrimp.

In addition to gas shrimp, there are gourmet dishes using deep-sea fish such as Nodoguro and Yume Rockfish.

Depending on the season, there may be seasonal fish skewers ♫

There is a terrace seat near the entrance of the store, so if you are bringing your dog with you, you can spend time here.

My dog was curious about the fragrant smell of gas shrimp lol

Dogs are allowed to move around in the aisles inside Marche Vison, so it's a great place to enjoy eating while walking with your dog.
