The shrine grounds are located approximately 300 meters from Shimakatsu Port, a fishing village with a nostalgic scenery, and there is a warm-season evergreen broad-leaved forest.
This area is also the northern limit of the warm-season deciduous shrub velvet purple, which is distributed in Kyushu, Shikoku, the southern tip of the Kii Peninsula, and Taiwan.
Many mixed evergreen trees grow here, such as sagebrush, Japanese staghorn oak, Japanese staghorn tree, Japanese staghorn tree, Japanese cypress tree, white oak, Japanese staghorn oak, and cypress tree.
It was designated as a prefectural natural monument on May 7, 1953 (S28).
