There is a warm-season plant community within the grounds of nagashima Shrine, which is located in the center of the town where you can smell the Kuroshio Current from the town of nagashima, which is lined with old houses from a fishing village.
The area is lined with large trees, mainly Japanese cedar trees, camphor trees, Japanese cedar trees, and cedar trees.
Among them, the giant cedar tree that stands out is a huge tree that is said to be about 1,000 years old and about 28 meters tall, and the tree is thriving and in good condition.
Other species that can be seen include Japanese bayberry, cypress, Japanese cypress, Japanese cypress, Japanese oak, and Japanese hissakaki.
There are undergrowth such as Japanese sagebrush and japonica, as well as vines such as vines and ferns, and ferns such as pine orchid and rock willow fern.
It was designated as a prefectural natural monument on September 12, 1963 (S38).
