Large camphor tree at Owase Shrine [prefecturally designated natural monument]
At the entrance to Owase Shrine, facing the road close to Owase Station, two large camphor trees overlap each other's branches to form a single canopy. The Kishu Domain survey ledger from 1636 records that the trunk circumference was 6m, so it is understandable why it is estimated to be over 1000 years old.
