VISON is a commercial complex located in Taki-cho, Taki-gun TakiTown where Japan's largest collection of food and culture is located.

On a vast site the size of 24 Tokyo Domes, there are about 70 stores, including a hotel where you can feel the four seasons, one of Japan's largest direct farm TakiTown, a medicinal herb bath named after Taki-cho, which is famous for medicinal herbs, and an experience store run by a Japanese food ingredients manufacturer. It is a huge commercial facility.

This article focuses on "food" in VISON 's concept of "healing, food, and knowledge," and provides a thorough introduction to food that you can enjoy to the fullest. Speaking of VISON and the latest trending products in 2023! We will provide a detailed report on the standard food products that you can eat while walking♪

18thJinsyoumaru

First, let's start with the Marche Vison area, which is closest to VISON entrance. When you step into VISON using the escalator in front of the P1 parking lot, the first thing you will see is 18thJinsyoumaru.

The only bottom trawl fishing boat in Mie Prefecture, ``Jinshomaru.'' At Jinshomaru, we serve dishes using fish and shrimp that live in the deep sea of about 130m to 500m.We offer delicious dishes using deep sea fish and shrimp that can only be found in the production areas, and fishermen on the boat. You can enjoy rare foods such as fisherman's soup ♪

Photo right: Gasu shrimp bowl (1,600 yen) Photo left: Fried gasu shrimp (550 yen)

I immediately received Jinshomaru's famous gas shrimp bowl (1,600 yen) and fried gas shrimp (550 yen).

Gas shrimps are said to be a phantom shrimp that even locals can hardly eat, living in the deep sea area at a depth of around 500 m and only landed by bottom trawl nets. Its official name is "bearded long-nosed shrimp. KihokuTown OwaseCity It is nicknamed "gas shrimp," and its meat, which is one size larger than amaebi, is full of the shrimp's original sweetness and flavor. It is a luxury to be able to eat such rare gas shrimps at VISON

Freshly caught and frozen gas shrimp for sashimi is also sold for 500g starting from 2,600 yen, making it a great souvenir.

Deep-fried Yumekasago Maru and Koshiori Shrimp are deep-fried at a low temperature for 20 to 30 minutes, so you can eat them down to the bones. Both are deep-fried, so they have a big impact! ! Please take a photo before you eat it!

It was so crispy that even the kids were biting into it! The key is to place your order early, as it may be fried only after the order is placed. This is because, according to the store staff, ``It's actually better when it's cold than when it's freshly made and hot.'' I tend to end up looking for freshly made food, so I'm glad to have that kind of information.

AmagoyaNakagawa

AmagoyaNakagawa (Amagoya Nakagawa)

The second store is AmagoyaNakagawa.

Run by the Nakagawa family, who have been ama divers for three generations in Toba City, TobaCity, this restaurant is modeled after AmaHut(Amagoya), and you can enjoy meals featuring carefully selected seafood from within the prefecture.

The Isoyaki set (3,300 yen) allows you to enjoy abalone, large clams, turban shells, and two oysters at the same time. When the product arrives, the scent of the ocean wafts through the air. The crunchy texture of the abalone spreads the flavor when you bite into it, and the large clams and oysters are large and plump. Turban shells are delicious not only for their crunchy flesh, but also for the flavorful soup stock. The slight bitterness is sure to enhance your drinking experience. At AmagoyaNakagawa, we also carry local sake from Mie Prefecture as well as sake carefully selected from all over the country!

There were many other interesting items such as sashimi platters and limited edition set meals. You can casually enjoy eating while walking on the terrace, but you can also enjoy a course meal inside the restaurant by making a reservation at least one day in advance. It's a store that you can use according to the occasion♪

Suzuki Suisan (Suzuki Suisan)

The third store is Suzuki Suisan, which is located next to AmagoyaNakagawa I introduced earlier. Suzuki Suisan is a restaurant that has been serving dishes that take advantage of the freshness of local seafood for 30 years, and you can enjoy the seafood of Mie Prefecture.

Ise Madai (red sea bream) sashimi and cooked rice chazuke (990 yen) uses live sea bream, so it's extremely fresh! Serve over steamed rice with roasted nuts and sesame sauce. The sea bream and sesame sauce went well together, and at the end, we added some warm dashi soup and made it into ochazuke. Even if you eat a lot and are full, you'll be able to eat it easily♪

Minamiise's Luxurious Aji Fried Horse Mackerel (680 yen) comes with a choice of two sauces. The sauces are mapo tartar sauce and green onion ginger perilla tartar sauce, both of which contain hot spring eggs. The mapo tartar sauce was spicy and the green onion ginger perilla tartar sauce had a mild taste that even children could eat. It looks like it would be fun to mix it yourself!

Depending on the size of the horse mackerel caught, it will be served in 1 or 2 pieces.

By the way, my children who have egg allergies happily ate each fried horse mackerel with Worcestershire sauce, which they could use, without using either of the two sauces.

Inside the Suzuki Suisan store, you could see fish swimming lively in the live fish tank, and the children were so excited that it felt like they were visiting an aquarium.

Please come visit the store with your children. There was also a lineup that even small children could enjoy, including Ise-Udon made with whitebait sent directly from fishermen from Toba Toshijima, fried takoyaki, and rolled eggs made with seaweed from Mie Prefecture.

All the shops introduced so far are located within the Marchévison seafood market.

Kei Tramarche - Serious fruit candy

"Kei Tora Marche" is an event venue where multiple producers and businesses dealing with agricultural, fishery and livestock products in Mie Prefecture sell their products every day, and is located in the Marche Visson event hall. If you check VISON official website, you can find out what stores are opening that day!

This is the 4th store to eat while walking. Feeling like eating something sweet soon? children. Here, I received some real fruit candy from a fruit candy specialty store. We use carefully selected seasonal fruits one by one, and on this day we had apples, Shine Muscats, kiwis, and the king of grapes (2 Shine Muscats and 1 Kyoho grape).

There are seven types of serious apple candy on the menu. From plain (600 yen) to cocoa (650 yen), cinnamon (650 yen), matcha (650 yen), and more, this time we have the most popular rainbow chocolate (650 yen). You can choose how you want to eat it, whether you want to take it home as a whole or cut it into bite-sized pieces (+50 yen).

The apple candy has the color of the material itself without using coloring agents.

Today's variety was Santsugaru, and in order to confirm the variety, they are currently cutting all of the meat before serving it. (No cutting fee required) There is a lot of colored spray topping around the apple candy, and it is difficult to eat without spilling it (lol) There are several table seats in the center of the light tramarche square, so I decided to sit here. We recommend sitting down to eat! Since the food was cut into bite-sized pieces, all the children enjoyed eating together!

Although it is not pictured, my daughter loves the ``brown rice mitarashi dango'' that is sold at Keitora Marche every Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays. We are very thorough in producing our products ourselves, starting from growing the raw material, rice. The sauce ingredients are also made in Mie Prefecture with no additives. The soy sauce we use is from Isegura in Yokkaichi, and it is made in a wooden vat, one of only 2% of the soy sauce left in Japan, making it a special dish. The texture is fluffy and chewy, and it's very delicious, so be sure to check it out when you go to VISON on the weekend!

There are more light tramarche stalls on holidays than on weekdays! In addition, there are various stores selling saury sushi, pizza, coffee, dried flowers (workshops are also held), and other stores that are different every day, so you'll want to stop by.

WARASHIBE by Taiyaki Warashibe

The fifth store will be Marche Vison's agricultural market and food education.

Taiyaki Warashibe is a taiyaki specialty store that originated in Ise-Shima and has stores mainly in the three Tokai prefectures. I grew up in Ise-Shima, and when I think of taiyaki, I think of ``taiyaki warashibe.''

At the VISON store, you can enjoy round-shaped taiyaki instead of the standard sea bream shape, and it has been very popular since VISON opened.

Round taiyaki is so cute, isn't it? There are male and female types, and a total of 4 patterns. What I received this time was the Wan drink set (600 yen). A set menu of your favorite taiyaki + drink, starting at 280 yen each (Ogura bean paste, custard bean paste, Ise GreenTea chaan) and 360 yen each (ICE/HOT coffee, apple juice 100%, orange juice 100%). You can choose.

You can also get the limited-time golden marron-flavored taiyaki (300 yen) as a set for the same price, so it's a good deal♪ (*Limited-time menu changes depending on the season)

It can be stored in the refrigerator or frozen, and can be made crispy in the toaster or fluffy in the microwave. You can purchase a set of 5 taiyaki for 1,300 yen, making it the perfect souvenir.

If you order a drink set and take a picture with a taiyaki on the straw part of the drink, it will look great... ♪ While the mothers were laughing and enjoying the photo, the children were playing catch bugs and waiting. (lol)

In addition to the standard Ogura bean paste, the limited-time golden marron flavor is also delicious. If you want to enjoy Japanese sweets at a reasonable price, you can't miss this place! !

Shinbeiya

The 6th store, Shinbeiya, is a store that sells fish paste and fried tempura. Since its founding in 1891, the restaurant has maintained the long-established taste by using fresh ingredients and time-honoured manufacturing methods, allowing you to enjoy the authentic taste.

Shrimp crisp tempura (600 yen), which has been extremely popular since it was introduced in May 2022, uses one luxurious black tiger! You can eat the whole shrimp with the tail on, and the shrimp is wrapped with minced white fish. A thin noodle-like thing is wrapped around the top. The main ingredients for this noodle dish are ``kadayuf,'' which is flour and water, and the dough on top of the noodles is also known as ``angel's hair,'' which originated in Turkey and Greece.

The freshly fried crispy tempura is sprinkled with rock salt for a crispy outside! The shrimp and white fish paste went well together, and the inside was fluffy.

Cheese sticks (350 yen) are one of my children's favorite foods, and one of the items I often buy when I come to VISON. The cheese will be very hot when it's freshly made, so be careful not to burn yourself!

There are not many people at the food and drink booth on top of Shinbeiya, and you can see Marche Vison from the top, so please stop by if you want to eat or drink♪

Marketeria

Next is the 7th store. The Marketeria located across from Shinbeiya is based on the concept of ``The future of the earth begins with the food we eat today'' based on the philosophy of SDGs, which are global guidelines for us as we move toward the future.

Supervised by Michelin chef Ryuji Teshima, we use plenty of ingredients sourced from former farmers, fishermen, and livestock producers. We will also actively work to reduce food loss by using fresh but unsold ingredients from Marchévison, as well as ingredients that cannot be distributed because they are irregular or substandard, and we will all work together to create a sustainable society. It seems that they are aiming to be the first store.

You can teach your children about SDGs while eating delicious food♪

The one I received at Marketeria is Huitre. Huitre means "oyster" in French. On this day, Momotori from Toba was used.

Boiled oysters served with marinière sauce cost 680 yen for 3 pieces, and 2,080 yen for 10 pieces. Marinière sauce is a traditional sauce from the Brittany region of France, made with a generous amount of white wine and fresh cream. It was supervised by Michelin chef Teshima, and went perfectly with oysters, also known as the milk of the sea.

We also sell the standard ponzu sauce, but if you're going to have it here, we recommend Marini.I recommend ale sauce♪

Other dishes include Mie prefecture spiny lobster clam paella (1,100 yen), Mie prefecture seaweed and seasonal vegetable shrimp and clam peperoncino (1,290 yen), and fish and chips (880 yen). Today's hatake soup (500 yen) is a soup that uses seasonal vegetables and Marche vegetables, and can be said to be a dish that is conscious of SDGs. There was a wide selection of drinks, from alcohol to organic coffee and shakes! Is it valuable in VISON? It is also a shop that sells potatoes, which children love.

The Marketeria also has a dining space (counter only) inside the store! This is the perfect place for those who want to relax and enjoy a quiet place while eating their way around.

Marche Vison

Marche Vison, our 8th store, supports the producers and businesses in Mie Prefecture and surrounding areas, and we offer "extraordinary freshness", high quality and delicious agricultural products and processed products that are purchased daily by chefs. You can purchase vegetables picked in the morning.

In fact, chefs from VISON sometimes come to the Marché Vison to shop. On this day, I saw the president of VISON purchasing various vegetables among the general public!

On this day, there were standard morning-picked vegetables, high-sugar fruit tomatoes that have been talked about in many media outlets, and various types of mandarin oranges produced in Mie Nanki that are in season. There were also craft colas for sale that are gentle on the body.

You can buy it very cheaply! Rather, you can purchase high-quality products with confidence. This is the image.

There was also a mandarin orange tasting corner, and on this day we sampled the phantom Unshu mandarin oranges (Yurawase mandarin oranges) from Mihama, Mie Prefecture. They are small in size, have thin skins that are easy for children to peel, and have a high sugar content, giving them a sweet taste. Recommended for people who don't like the sourness of mandarin oranges. Each child enjoyed it one by one♪

VISON holds fairs for a limited time to introduce the charms of various regions of Mie Prefecture to tourists from all over the country. The Kumano Fair was held in May 2022, the Shima Fair was held in March 2023, the WataraiTown Fair was held in August, and MeiwaTown Fair was being held in October when we visited.

Students at Meiwa Junior High School were experiencing customer service using avatars, and the children were surprised by the avatars that could communicate with them remotely! When asked, "What did you come for today?" the 5-year-olds answered, "We're doing an interview." (LOL)

During the fair period, you can enjoy fair-limited menus using local specialties at VISON 's restaurants.

Confiture H (Confiture Ash)

Next, move on to Sweets Village. The ninth store, Confiture Ash, is a patisserie run by pastry chef Hirohiro Tsujiguchi, who strives to achieve the ultimate in local production for local consumption. The interior of the store has a very open feel, and you can enjoy cakes, baked goods, confiture, and more.

This time I received two types: Mont Blanc and Santos. The rich Mont Blanc (855 yen) is made with French chestnut cream and has a chestnut flavor, making it perfect for this season. Santos (906 yen) is a chocolate mousse with a faint scent of Japanese black tea from Matsusaka, combined with gorgeous blackberries. The visuals are just so beautiful that you'll be captivated by them.

Baumkuchen and various types of confitures that last a long time are great as souvenirs for people who can't give them to you right away, or as souvenirs for your home♪

Mariage de Farine

The bakery run by pastry chef Hirohiro Tsujiguchi is located next to VISON bus terminal, which is his 10th eatery. Popular items often sell out quickly, so play with VISON and buy some bread before you go home! There are many cases where I couldn't buy something when I went there in the evening, so if there's something you're looking for, I recommend visiting in the morning. It's open from 8am, so you can enjoy your morning.

As soon as you step inside the store, you can smell the aroma of bread and see many delicious-looking breads lined up in rows. I can't help but buy this. The time you spend worrying about what to do is also a time of happiness.

We received three types of bread here.

The Japanese Chestnut Cream and Sweet Potato Bread (294 yen) was a soft, fluffy loaf of bread with a mixture of autumn flavors kneaded into a marble shape, and had a gentle taste that even small children could enjoy. Mushroom & Garlic Bacon (284 yen) had just the right amount of saltiness, making it feel like you were eating a side dish. Lastly, Mentaiko French bread (304 yen). The more you chew on the elastic baguette, the more delicious it becomes! It was chewy and spicy, but it was unexpectedly popular with the kids and there was a lot of fighting over it (lol).

The interior of the store is bright and open with glass walls. There was a shared eat-in space and one private room with a large table in the center. You can use it freely if it is vacant. It's large enough to accommodate 9 people from 2 families, and it can get a bit noisy when there are too many children, so it was helpful to have a private room.

NOUNIYELL

Our 11th store, Nouniere, is located in the farm area on the mountain side of VISON. Even if you just walk casually, you won't be able to get here easily. We recommend traveling by private car.

You are free to move around VISON parking lot with your own car! If you come to VISON using public transportation, please try using the free buses that circulate within VISON. Of course, you can also use it if you have your own car. I've used it once, and the kids seemed to be having fun while riding the bus, which felt like an attraction.

Nouniere is a farm and restaurant operated in cooperation with Kewpie Corporation with the concept of ``giving cheer to the future of agriculture.'' Supervised by Italian chef Masayuki Okuda, who is famous for his locally produced food, you can enjoy Italian cuisine that is healthy for both your mind and body, using fresh vegetables picked daily from the farm.

The vegetable-filled Peperoncino (1,200 yen) is so packed with freshly picked vegetables that it almost hides the pasta! Even my child who doesn't like vegetables ate it so much that he asked for a second helping. If your child eats it, please let the staff know so they can adjust the spiciness.

There were other pasta dishes such as Amariciana (1,200 yen) and mushroom cream pasta (1,400 yen), and pizzas such as Margherita (1,100 yen) and Quattro Formaggio (1,300 yen).

You can enjoy it individually, but it's also nice to have a course meal that you can enjoy while taking in the spectacular scenery. We also have children's sets and children's chairs, making it easy for families to bring their children.

And Nouniere also has rooms where you can eat and drink with your pet! If you're bringing your dog with you, you'll be happy! We also have a dog menu (1,500 yen). Nouniere's dog menu, created in cooperation with veterinarians and with even the calorie content in mind, is safe enough for humans to eat. Reservations are recommended for use. VISON is a restaurant where you can enjoy with your pet, a pet hotel, and a dog service. There is also a run, making it a facility that pets can enjoy as well.

Next, we will move to Wavison. To get from Nouniere, we drove to the Honzoyu parking lot and then took the escalator down from there.

The 12th store, Hayashi Shoten, is a shop where you can enjoy pickles. Ise takuan, a specialty product from Mie Prefecture, is fermented and aged in large wooden barrels inside the shop. Apparently, each barrel contains 4,000 daikon radish! That's a huge amount! When pickling Ise takuan, adjustments are made depending on the thickness of the radish harvested, the temperature and humidity of the day, and it is a process that requires the experience and intuition of a mature person. Ise takuan, which is carefully and lovingly aged and fermented for about two years, is perfect as a souvenir.

Here, we received their signature pickled cucumber sticks (300 yen), which are pickled in homemade rice bran. It can be said to be a standard item when walking around eating♪ There were also eggplant sticks (300 yen) and carrot sticks (200 yen).

It had a refreshing taste, and even the kids ate the whole bottle. You can also take it home.
