Choryuji Temple

From the city of Iga, head south on National Route 422. Choryuji Temple, a Shingon Risshu sect, stands on a small hill as if watching over the village.
It houses a ``Wooden Seated Statue of Yakushi Nyorai,'' which is said to have been created in the late Heian period and is designated as an important cultural property.
Next to the shrine grounds, unrelated Buddha statues are stacked horizontally in several tiers.
