Raigoji Temple

A Jodo sect temple located in the mountains up the mountain from MatsusakaCity on National Route 166. It is said that Chogen, who was said to be a famous monk during the Kamakura period, opened this temple.
The bronze bell in the collection was made in 1568. It was designated as a prefectural tangible cultural property in 1952.
In addition, the approximately 300-year-old camellia (Dutch red) tree in the shrine grounds is said to have been brought back by Kiyomasa Kato when Toyotomi Hideyoshi dispatched troops to Korea, and is at its best in spring.
