Ao Headworker Aotoushukou
A hidden spot for cherry blossoms and autumn leaves
It was completed in 1963 as a facility to take in water from the Miyagawa River. The Miyagawa Irrigation Water takes water from the Ao Head Works and supplies the agricultural water necessary for the fields in the southern part of the Ise Plain. The water taken is used in approximately 4,600 hectares of farmland from OdaiTown to TakiTown, TamakiTown, MeiwaTown, and IseCity.
It is also a famous spot for cherry blossoms and autumn leaves, and the best time to see the autumn leaves is in early December at the Ao Headworks Maple Plaza along the clear Miyagawa River, where there are about 50 maple trees.
