Iga traditional taste, famous tofu-dengaku. It's one of the most popular dishes in Iga, but for lunch, it's tofu dengaku from Wakaya, which boasts a history of over 170 years. The nostalgic taste is still alive and well, and the charcoal-grilled dengaku is a masterpiece. The taste of miso changes depending on the season, and it has a mellow taste that everyone likes. Tofu is a typical healthy menu item, so even those who are concerned about dieting can enjoy it to their heart's content.
Fun fact: Because the Iga region is surrounded by mountains, seafood was difficult to come by in the past, so tofu was valued as a valuable protein source.
