Goshinkake Festival Gomikakematsuri

A traditional event called “Kissai” held at Kawazoe Shrine
The Gomikake Festival is a unique festival held on a Sunday around February 19th every year at Kawazoe Shrine (Tochihara, Odai-cho, Taki-gun, Mie OdaiTown) along the Iseji Route of the Kumano Kodo.
This is a festival in which the two groups from this program parade through the area, led by auspicious people, and meet up in front of a shrine, after which Kagura offerings and rituals are held.
This year, the two troupes from our program will be in charge of the parade in Miyano and Shimonita wards. They will depart from their respective starting points to arrive at Kawazoe Shrine just after 1:00 p.m. and parade through the area. After joining up in front of the shrine, they will all enter the shrine grounds together around 2:00 p.m., where kagura offerings and Shinto rituals will be held.
