A red stamp that introduces the story of Miyako Saigu, the praying princess of Saio, including Take saikuu.

The theme for March is Hagawa River, where Saio is said to have performed his final purification before entering Ise.

Since the system was established in the Asuka period, the Saio was selected by fortune-telling from the unmarried Imperial Princess or Queen upon the accession of the Emperor.
The selected Saio departs from his family and the familiar life in the capital, and heads to saikuu on a five-night, six-day journey known as the Saiō Gungyo, accompanied by more than 200 servants.
This journey is a purification journey for Saio to get closer to God.
Saio performed his final purification at the Hara River, the river that flows at the entrance to the sacred shrine, and entered saikuu.
